What Every Transition Is Really About
1995: Hong Kong → Seattle
2015: Seattle → Singapore
2025: Singapore → Hong Kong
Each move marked more than a change in skyline.
It marked a rebirth,
like a phoenix rising.
We often think of moving as
running away from what no longer works.
But I’ve come to live by this:
Don’t move to fix your life.
Move when your soul begins to outgrow the space you’re in.
When things stop breaking… and start dulling.
When the learning plateaus.
When comfort becomes too familiar,
and the edge that once sharpened you… fades.
That’s when it’s time.
Every move I’ve made
was a calling
to become more of myself,
to serve in new ways,
to grow in dimensions I never knew existed.
Seattle stretched my ambition.
Singapore reawakened my soul.
And now,
as I prepare to return to Hong Kong,
I’m not going back to start over.
I’m going back
to expand beyond imagination,
to give back to my roots.
The next wave—the AI revolution—is here.
And I’m diving in:
with the community that once nurtured me,
for the generations that follow.
If you’re standing at the edge of a big transition,
a new job, city, relationship, or identity,
know this:
The unknown is not emptiness.
It’s a vessel waiting to be filled.
Let your next move
be a bold declaration
of your becoming.
See you in Hong Kong.
